LUXURY Thai Hotel operator Dusit Thai will today launch a $550 million golf and spa resort in Springfield, southwest of Brisbane.
Backed by Hong Kong fund manager Maxsen Capital, the Brookwater Golf & Spa Resort at First Residence is believed to be the largest foreign investment resort in Queensland’s history.
The $110 million first stage will feature 168 luxury apartments with private plunge pools overlooking the Greg Norman Brookwater Golf Course.
The resort will include a recreation club with restaurants, beach style lagoon pools, lap pools, children’s water slides and gymnasium with cafe and bridal centre, wedding chapel and event function area and man-made beach lagoon.
Stage 1 is due to start construction early next year and targeting a soft opening in the 3rd to 4th quarter of 2016.
On completion the Resort will feature 520 apartments, international tennis stadium and club designed to host major international tour events, water park and family club, retail emporium, aquatic centre designed to Commonwealth Games standard and the “Starlight Convention Centre”.
Industry sources say a Phase 6 of the resort will feature a hotel and hospitality training facility.
